How to Recover Data

How to recover data? The question has been asked since the computer was invented. Until the adoption of the personal computer by businesses and the general public, recovering lost data was a high-end specialty, which explained why there has been a proliferation of service and software utility companies in the past couple of decades.

All hard drives will eventually fail. If everyone was prepared for this eventuality there would be no need for data recovery services, software, or even this web site. But, things happen and we humans make mistakes. Our How to Recover Data website describes the standard operating procedures that data retrieval and data recovery professionals use, as well as vital and key information that the recovery shops don’t want you to know.

The information on this website may also enable individuals to recover data on their own without paying the high prices associated with using a data recovery company. While this site is slanted towards the retrieval of data from rotating media (hard disk drives), many of the tools, principles and processes apply to other storage media as well. Let’s see if we can get your data back without spending a fortune.

How To Recover Data is not responsible for the failure of your device or loss of your data. We will not be held responsible for damage as a result of any advice written, implied, or otherwise, including software recommendations, advice provided directly or indirectly on any of the pages of this web site. Use the information we provide on this website at your own risk.
